About Me
|
Im a complicated human being, with numerous aspirations and beliefs. Funny, empathic, sarcastic and whatnot.
If i had to choose a belief, i would be a Baha'i. Communication with people is a must, what is why im learning Esperanto.
My political view is rather uncommon, as of now, i haven't found a single system capable of meeting humanity's needs.. So until that new paradigm arrives, my views are socialist & anarchist.
I support the GNU & FSF, in their struggle in liberating the minds and computers of the world against non-free and closed source software. Personally i use GNU/Linux and i advocate its wide use.
Im a medical student, and a de facto scientist, i believe in humanization of the medical profession, the relentless and tireless work in favor of the populace, the wide use of generics to the mass population.
On the greener side, i have become conscious about humanity's impact on the environment and the current state of global warming, i do believe we are still capable of mending things but it will take all our effort to change the way we live and view the planet from now on.
I consider myself a humanist, and seek to preserve and cherish human life as much as possible.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.
Friedrich Nietzsche, Beyond Good and Evil, Aphorism 146
I write differently from the way I speak, I speak differently from the way I think, I think differently from the way I should think - and so it goes on into the darkest depths of infinity. Franz Kafka (Letter to Ottla, July 10, 1914)

Baha'is believe:
* the purpose of life is to know and worship God, to acquire virtues, to promote the oneness of humankind and to carry forward an ever-advancing civilization * all humanity was created by one God and is part of one human race * work performed in the spirit of service is a form of worship * the soul, created at the moment of conception, is destined by God to reach the afterlife, where it will continue to progress until it attains the presence of God
Baha'is practice:
* daily prayer and communion with God * high moral principles, including trustworthiness, chastity and honesty * independent investigation of truth * a life dedicated to the service of humanity * fellowship with the followers of all religions * avoidance of excessive materialism, partisan politics, backbiting, alcohol, drugs and gambling Social principles include:
* equality of women and men * the harmony of science and religion as two complementary systems of knowledge that must work together to advance the well being and progress of humanity * the elimination of prejudice * the establishment of a world commonwealth of nations * recognition of the common origin and fundamental unity of purpose of all religions * spiritual solutions to economic problems and the removal of economic barriers and restrictions * the abolition of extremes of poverty and wealth * the adoption of a world auxiliary language, a world , and a uniform and universal system of currency and weights and measures
